Great tutorial, easy to follow and understand.

Just completed making a pair of these, and they work very well. I was using skewers with electrical tape holding them together before, but they were too short and broke easily, and the tape didn't hold them too well. These feel like real ones. The only thing I changed on mine was that I used 1/2 inch O-rings instead of tubing on the mid section. Both work. Nicely done.

Hey, I've been looking around online trying to find more info and others thoughts on Pacific's new line and ran across this site. Just wanted to share my opinion on them real quick..

I've been playing drums for close to 16 years and have some experience with buying/selling kits, I have worked in drum sales before at Guitar Center and basically have seen the Pacific series from the beginning. Long story short, I bought the Platinum Series Tobacco burst (satin oil) set (22 kick,10,12,14,16 - toms) and all I have to say is this series is worth every penny!

The toms are 8 ply american maple and they sing.. they're boomy.. they sound really good. Pretty much this kit sounds killer and looks like a very high end DW or custom kit. The new lugs also make the kit look better than any other PDP design. When PDP first started I thought the kits were solid for the money, maple shell's for under a grand -- not much competition in that market but they've really set a new bar for your average drum kit. I only mean average because it's not a low end kit and it's not a bank account consuming DW.

Anyway, two thumbs way up on this series. Go try one out, I wouldn't rule the kit out if it's not in tune or has the factory heads on it. The kit I bought sounded like poo in the store but I put Coated Emperors and an EMAD on the kick and everything was cool after that.

Would really appreciate a rapid review for this Aquarian Practise pad.
I'm looking to buy a new pad and wondered if this was worth the extra cash considering what's included and how it stands up to the HQ Real Feel Pad..?

I'm of the opinion that any kind of electronic percussion should be allowed, but keyboards? Come on!

It's not an issue of if its a percussion instrument, it's a matter of stylistic taste.

And to be perfectly honest it drives me nuts that he doesnt hold down a consistent pattern for more than 2 seconds throughout the whole vides. Sure he do all that stuff but he can groove. (and im talking actually groove) Not just a beat taken from Rick Latham's funk studies.
