As we've discussed at length on the show, electronic drums will never (say it with me) never replace acoustic drums in terms of feel and overall sound. That said, Roland's new TD-4S V-Kit is really nice. I'm usually not a fan of rubber pads on electronic kits, but this one looks pretty good. Simpler, more streamlined stands, easier cable-wrangling. As some of you may know, custom drum builder Ronn Dunnett of Dunnett Classic Drums also runs a drummer message board, Drumsmith.com. As part of that website, he posts unbelievable pictorials of pictures he takes at various drum shows (NAMM, MusikMesse in Germany, etc). His most recent addition is one of the best I've seen. Looks like gospel drumming is everywhere we turn these days. After a wonderful night at the Teddy Campbell clinic at Memphis Drum Shop Tuesday (review coming on this week's show), looks like today that Vater has released several models of gospel sticks.
