He never played anything back in the day that was technically sound. No mind blowing speed or chops, he was just in a popular band.

Wow ... so chops are what make drummers great? Ask ANY drummer worth their salt about Ringo Starr, and they'll comment on his musicianship, time, and his ability to play a part PERFECT for any song.

P.S. No need for insults (re: "cause I know alot of you can’t take the criticism). Who is this "you" you are referring to?

Not to be rude...but sometimes I think history makes men, not the other way around. Personally I think Ringo Starr is one of the most overrated drummers EVER. He never played anything back in the day that was technically sound. No mind blowing speed or chops, he was just in a popular band. Meg White could have even played that gig...no offense cause I know alot of you can't take the criticism but I don't care. People learn to play drums to Beatles and AC/DC albums and you know why.....cause they're easy to learn. Someone had to say it!

Thanks for posting this! I'd never seen the whole Ed Sullivan performance. I'd just like to mention that I think it's notable that out of all the Beatles, it was Ringo who received the most fan mail.
